First of all, we, each, have an inner weirdo. Uranus reflects the out of “the box brilliance” of each native. It shows the places in which one will break rules; march to his own drummer. Uranus is a very powerful force, akin to electricity, which it rules. Uranus is the planet that scares me the most, personally. The reason is that can confer both brilliance and madness. I have seen both.
Uranus is a planet that is as powerful as dynamite. Hence, one is wise to discern it’s relevance in one’s chart. For me, I am fortunate in that I have one Uranus aspect. It is a conjunction with Jupiter in the 10th House, the house of career. Uranus rules Astrology. Hence, a bird’s eye picture of me can be seen by my Uranus placement. I am an Astrologer, by career.
Back to Retrogrades. Uranus Direct can express his inner weirdo to the world. Uranus Retrograde tends to hide it. Uranus is the iconoclast. One does not want the iconoclastic part of oneself in a dark, interior room, so to speak. It is not healthy lol
Suzanne Somers said that we are only as sick as the secrets we keep. I agree, although it is a hard balance to strike between sharing and holding back. It takes wisdom and it takes making mistakes. However, the principle remains that it is not healthy to keep one’s secrets bottled inside Uranus Retrograde tends to do this.
I feel Uranus Retrograde is an unfortunate placement. I, personally, like some Retrogrades. I have Mercury retrograde in Gemini and I like it. I have Neptune Retrograde and i like it. The former forces me have to learn subjects deeply before I can use them. Neptune Retorgrade makes one think very deeply about spiritual things. I think this is an advantage. However, Uranus Retrograde seems like a heavy burden as do the rest of the Retrogrades. I have Saturn and Chiron, as well. This is my personal opinion on particular Retrogrades. However, all Retrogrades have a recycling activity, which defines them.
